West Palm Beach is South Florida’s new Tech Hub – and it’s time for an Undy Tweetup!

Hello Friends! Congratulations for conquering the first and shortest week of 2013!

Even though this has been a graciously short week, there have been a couple very interesting things that have happened locally in the tech scene which I feel are very important to share as they are getting National press and putting West Palm Beach on the map as a tech hub. Something that is VERY exciting for me!

ProjectLife365 launches from Muses and Visionaries

Project Life 365 is an interactive photo-a-day challenge that helps you develop your visual literacy by daily prompts that engage your imagination.

Project Life 365 is being spearheaded at Muses and Visionaries in downtown West Palm Beach, and after being launched for a couple days is getting a lot of attention with hundreds of pictures being submitted and discussed. There are a lot of ways you can submit & browse pictures, but the easiest is on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #ProjectLife365

Read more at the  ProjectLife365 blog.

Nick Mohnacky and Pixil Agency launches the Surfr Kickstarter project

The second big event in this mercifully short week, was that yesterday Nick Mohnacky from Pixil Agency launched a Kickstarter project to raise money for a brand new Surfer App.

Kickstarter is a funding platform for creative projects. Everything from films, games, and music to art, design, and technology. Kickstarter is has raised over $300 million for small project, but it’s not just about the money, it’s also about raising awareness about projects and growing a community, which is even more important in my humble opinion than the funding.

To show how the City of West Palm Beach is also excited about this, we celebrated the launch with Mayor Jeri Muoio and our Director of Economic Development Allen Durham last night (pictures below).

I am trying to get Nick to speak at this upcoming Webmonday! So please RSVP there to get more of the story!

Get your undies on, it’s time for Undy 5000

Remember last time we were at Undy 5000? Well, it’s back and Team Clematis is firing up again to get as many people as possible on board.

This is how I look without a cast!!!

The race is on the 2nd of Feb! Sign up today to join #TeamClematis, we will also have a pre-event tweetup which I expect everyone to join us.

The Undy 5000 is a family-friendly 5K run/walk that was created by the Colon Cancer Alliance. It is unique because participants are encouraged to run in their boxers to bring attention to the area affected by colon cancer. It is a ton of fun! Maybe more fun than the race itself is some of the costumes people arrive in!

Sign up on our team today! I will make more information about the Tweetup available as we get closer to the event!

Ginger’s Dance Party

It’s time once again for Ginger’s Dance Party! The absolute best way to kick off your Saturday night festivities! Be there at 8 to start dancing & make sure to friend Ginger on Facebook to get future updates!

Well, that’s all from me! Hope to see you at the GreenMarket on Saturday!

Aaron “aGuyonClematis” Wormus!

PS. I’m doing things a bit differently and posting these updates on the blog before I send them out on the mailing list. This way we can make sure that people who aren’t on the mailing list get all my epic updates!
