What’s in Store at Flagler Shore?

Flagler Shore is open on the downtown Waterfront with a number of events and activities for residents and visitors to enjoy in the expanded public space.  City of West Palm Beach officials encourage the public to explore the temporary changes on Flagler Drive, attend events and activities planned for the next five months, and provide feedback of their experiences. The tactical urbanism project is a constant work in progress based on public feedback, so visitors can expect to see continual changes throughout the coming months.

Flagler Shore is a temporary design project that repurposes two lanes on Flagler Drive from Lake Avenue to Banyan Boulevard (.6 miles) to expand the waterfront public space for pedestrians, bicyclists, and merchants, as well as allow for additional programming.  Visitors can expect additional seating, bistro tables and chairs, public art, street vendors, street performers and various activities along the expanded waterfront space.  During the five-month project that runs through March 1, 2018, Flagler Drive will be reduced from four lanes to two lanes (keeping both southbound and northbound traffic flow).  Coordinated by the City of West Palm Beach and the West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency in partnership with the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority, the Flagler Shore project constructs a short-term design that allows the community to reclaim more public space and create a more dynamic waterfront.

To find out more about the city’s Flagler Shore project, please call (561) 822-2222 or visit www.wpb.org/flaglershore.  The city encourages public feedback on the new design and new activities via email at  flaglershore@wpb.org.

Below is listing of events and activities planned along the expanded Flagler Shore waterfront in downtown West Palm Beach.  Find updates and additional information on the website or city’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pg/CityofWPB.
