Whatcha Getting Into This Weekend? (Jan 22-24)


Another week just means more fun to be had here in West Palm Beach. Especially Friday as there’s plenty to do, as usual.

There’s always performances going on, and this weekend is sure to be quite a show as the Palm Beach Opera presents: Carmen. I’ve been hearing and seeing a lot about Carmen the seductress and the upcoming performance so I can’t wait to see how it turns out. It will take place at the Kravis Center for Performing Arts from Friday and Saturday (at 7:30) until Sunday (at 2). Tickets start at $25. Find out more at here.

You may want to wait until Saturday or Sunday to watch Carmen, as there’s a bunch of things to get into this weekend.

If you’re a sucker for the vibrant sounds of the violin and cello, you can attend the New Oxford String Quartet on Friday. The performance will be at the Flagler Museum at 7:30. Call (561) 655- 2833 for required advanced tickets ($70 per concert).

slocan ramblersOr you can go to the performance of the bluegrass quartet, The Slocan Ramblers, on Sunday at 7:30 at the Kravis Center.

If you’re more into visual stimulations, you can save Friday for the FOTOvision, an evening of short photographic movies about photography. The event is sponsored by the DDA and Arts and Entertainment District to celebrate the 21st anniversary of FOTOfusion. The FREE event starts at 8 and will be held at the Waterfront at 101 N Clematis St.
