STEAM: Drone Program – Beginner Level

The Society of the Four Arts –  2 Four Arts Plaza

Participants will learn safe drone operation, the science and engineering behind drones, aerial drone photography, industrial drone applications and the future of drones in society. Every student will be able to apply what they have learned under close supervision of certified drone flight instructors. The drone programs will start at the beginner level and once student completes the course they can sign up for the intermediate level. The class is free and is for children ages second grade and up. Critique Night with Tim Wride, Curator of Photography at The Norton Museum of Art

Armory Art Center – 811 Park Place

Critique Nights are given by professional and superb curators for serious artists in any medium. $40 to register and $10 to audit, maximum of 6 participants and minimum of 4 students, participants can present 2-D and 3-D work, limit of 4-6 pieces per participant. Lunch on the Shore

No lunch plans. No problem! Now thru February 2018, bring your friends and coworkers to Flagler Shore every Wednesday for “Lunch on the Shore”. From 12-2 p.m., bring your own lunch or pre-order food from our downtown restaurants to have it delivered at Flagler Shore through Delivery Dudes, Cravy and UberEats. There will also be 3 to 4 food trucks on the southend, located at 501 S. Flagler, for you to sample from. Come enjoy our beautiful downtown and connect with the shore.

Secrets of a Perfect Risotto at Multilingual Society

A cooking demonstration by Giuseppe Bianchini from Pizzeria That’s Amore, both in Italian and English. Learn how to make this traditional Italian dish, so simple and yet so incredibly versatile and delicious. You can play with various ingredients and ideas once you understand the basics and secrets of a perfect Risotto. A demonstration / tasting of 3 types of risotto, accompanied by a glass of wine. Dick Fox’s Golden Boys Starring Frankie Avalon, Fabian and Bobby Rydell

The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts

From Venus to Volare to Turn Me Loose and more, the polished Golden Boys — Frankie Avalon, Fabian and Bobby Rydell — gave a glistening shine to the ’50s and ’60s with gold records galore. Producer Dick Fox unites this vibrant trio of former teen idols for a finger-snapping stroll down memory lane that also includes hits by Elvis Presley, Bobby Darin, Rick Nelson and Bill Haley. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $25.

Sherryl Muriente, Manager of Urban Placemaking @ Downtown West Palm Beach

Sherryl oversees’ the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority engagement in Flagler Shore and the upcoming 12 for 12 project now being named “The Thoroughfare”

Sherryl previously worked at The Street Plans Collaborative, an award-winning urban planning, design, and research/advocacy firm. She also worked as an urban design instructor at Florida Atlantic University. She has also served as the Creative Director of Lejobart, artist duet, in which she has curated and managed large-scale public art projects.

She has worked on an array of community engagement projects in West Palm Beach that use Tactical Urbanism demonstration techniques and processes for community-led interventions, alleyway restorations, and parklet studies, such as C’est la Via, Sistrunk’s Story Share, the Megaphone, and the Street Balcony Pilot Project.

Choose your own colors. This class starts at 6:30 and will last between 2 1/2 and 3 hours. Seating is first come first serve, so please arrive early for check-in. A Conversation with Tim O’Brien at Dreyfoos School of the Arts

Join us for a special guest lecture by Amercian Novelist Tim O’Brien. Tim O’Brien is best known for his work of fiction, The Things They Carried (1990), a critically acclaimed collection of semi-autobiographical, interrelated short stories inspired by O’Brien’s experiences in the Vietnam War. In addition, he is known for his war novel, Going After Cacciato (1978), also written about wartime Vietnam.Tickets are $5. Saturday Historic Walking Tour at Historical Society of Palm Beach County

Explore downtown West Palm Beach’s history during an interactive Walking History Tour on the first and third Saturday, October through April! In partnership with the City of West Palm Beach Green Market, the 90-minute guided tour will start at 10 a.m. and be led by architect and historian Rick Gonzalez. The tours will highlight the evolution of downtown West Palm Beach buildings and landmarks. Tours begin “by the Banyan tree” on the north end of Clematis Street, 101 N. Clematis St., and end at the Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum, at 300 N. Dixie Hwy.
