Armory students and the general public are invited to attend this FREE and exciting opportunity. Lunch and Learn is held from 12:45 – 1:30 pm in our media room. Bring your lunch and an open mind not only to learn about art, but also get to know some of our fascinating guests—our veteran and new faculty members, artists-in-residence, and visiting master artists.

Fred Dixon and his wife Martha have collected art for 35 years and traveled to many of the most important museums and cathedrals in the U.S., Europe, and Italy to view Renaissance and Baroque art. For ten years they were docents at the Barnes Foundation which has the largest collection of Impressionistic and Post-Impressionistic art in the U.S. including 181 Renoirs. Fred’s book “700 Years of Art History: Pre-Renaissance To Modernism,” from which parts of this lecture are taken will be available at this event for the discounted price of $35.

10% any regularly scheduled 4 to 8-week class. For Armory Art Center new students only. Must attend a Lunch and Learn and then register for class by 9:30 AM the following morning.

The I Love West Palm Beach Exhibition, this showcase has brought together three high profile art and culture advocates to assist in choosing the work for the first “I Love West Palm Beach Exhibition”. When Rolando Chang Barrero shared the idea for the exhibition with Aaron Wormus, the one-man founder, content creator and marketing savant behind aGuyonClematis, the most popular West Palm Beach-based Twitter and blog, they both knew they were on to something exciting. Soon Raphael Clemente, Executive Director of the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority was contacted. Raphael was thrilled to be a part of the project and served as the juror. Katerina Wagner, the publisher of Miami Art Scene and full-time arts promoter, took wind of the project and enthusiastically joined the trio making it a well-rounded powerhouse project to promote the love of The City of West Palm Beach.

What’s it Worth? at the Armory Art Center

Notable appraisers with areas of expertise in fine art, furniture, Asian art, and jewelry can appraise your treasures at this exciting, first-time event.

The Armory Art Center will be hosting an appraisal day with renowned appraisers on Saturday, February 17, 2018. Anyone who is interested in having artwork they own appraised can come by the Armory Art Center from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The price of having one piece of art appraised is $25 and for two pieces of art the cost is $40. Participants are allowed to bring up to two pieces of art per person.

Appraisers include Kelly Luchini, Rico Baca, Virginia Utley, Susan Hunter, David J. Barnett, and Stuart Whitehurst. These appraisers hail from various prominent institutions such as Palm Beach Modern Auctions, Marvin & Whitehurst Appraisal Group, Inc., Palm Beach Jewelry Appraisals, and Butenhoff Fine Art Appraisals.

Sunday at the Waterfront

NUTHIN’ FANCY/Tribute to Lynryd Skynyrd

Nuthin’ Fancy, named after the band’s platinum album that debuted in 1975, is coming to town prepared to sing sweet southern songs in West Palm Beach, Florida, “where the skies are [also] so blue.” Fans can come together and enjoy the music that made southern and classic rock what it is today while enjoying the throwback tunes of the classic 70s. The look, sound, lineup and feel of the overall show – led by magnetic front man Tommy Roxx, who is said to be a Ronnie Van Zant clone – is sure to impress.

This FREE family-friendly concert series is held year round on the 3rd Sunday of each month, and features a variety of national and regional recording artists. Located along the picturesque Flagler Drive waterfront on the Waterfront Commons, Sunday on The Waterfront provides an ideal setting for good times and great entertainment.
