“The Polka King” Jan Lewan to Play West Palm Brewery

Can you believe that West Palm Beach brewery has only been open since February? They have not even seen an entire season yet throughout the summer they have continued to be the “happening place” in downtown.

Joel’s solid & creative beers, and Chef Andrew’s delicious oven-baked food are awesome, and the epic events that are put on are second to none. On Saturday, August 25th the tradition continues with Polish Craft Beer Day

The highlight of the night is Jan Lewan, “The Polka King” playing as well as Alex Meixner Band, a nationally acclaimed musician and accordion player!

I met Jan  a few weeks ago at Clematis by Night. He is an unassuming & friendly guy with one hell of a story.

I’ll let him tell you his story, or you can watch Jack Black portray him in the recent movie, now on Netflix.

There will be Polish vendors to fill your stomachs with deliciously authentic bites. Taste of Europe Deli, a local European market, will be providing Pierogies, Kielbasa and Kapusta!

And check out the craft beer options:

AUTHENTIC POLISH & BELGIAN BEER:
D&V International, a premier importer of specialty beers from Belgium and Poland, will be at our event with a tent, giveaways, and of course, beer!
They’ll be pouring Polish Beers/Ciders by Browar Fortuna: Apple Cider, Pear Cider, Mirabelle fruit Beer, Komes Baltic Porter, and Piwo z Grodziska!
-They’ll ALSO be pouring two Belgian beers: The St Bernardus Abt 12 and St Bernardus Wit!

TWO NEW WEST PALM BREWERY BEERS:
West Palm Beach Brewery owner, John, grew up in a Polish household. New beers for the event are named after two of his uncles: who were beer lovers, WWII veterans, and active members of the Polish American community.

UNCLE STASH’S IMPERIAL STOUT: A Rich & thick Stout made with rolled oats, chocolate malts and roasted barley
UNCLE MITCHS ALE:A hop forward, full-bodied IPA with notes of lemon, papaya and melon

There will be tons of shade, water and seating available as well. This inside of the brewery will also be open during the event.

Come on Saturday and Celebrate. West Palm Beach Brewery is at 332 Evernia Street. Parking is on-site or on right across the street in the Evernia Parking Garage.
