Cory Asbury

For all my fans of worship music Cory Asbury, of Reckless Love fame, will be kicking off the music line up in the Party Pavilion at Sunday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m..

Starship

Like 90’s rock? At 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, Starship featuring Mickey Thomas will take the stage. Held in conjunction with the fair’s first Bike Night, Thomas is the owner of the soaring voice that propelled Starship through the decades of the 1980s and 1990s. With his soulful and compelling vocals, he has established himself as one of rock music’s most recognizable stars. Thomas made his mark in 1976 as lead vocalist on the mega-hit “Fooled Around and Fell In Love” with The Elvin Bishop Band. In 1979, he joined the Jefferson Starship as lead vocalist, after the departure of Grace Slick and Marty Balin. The band went on to be renamed Starship and scored a string of top hits and Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum records.

The Starz of the Future

To celebrate 20 years of “The Starz of the Future,” the largest talent competition in South Florida, the fair will host a Starz MVP (Most Valuable Performers) fundraising concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23. Starz of the Future has hosted thousands of aspiring artists and is the largest competition over five counties.

“The Starz will feature and honor previous Starz participants and winners who have carved out incredible careers and made an impact in the music and entertainment industry,” said founder and event organizer Maggi Rosenberg. “To celebrate this special milestone, this concert will benefit a local charitable organization and establish scholarships for high school students interested in the arts and entertainment industry.”

Starz performers will include Chris Grant, Beyoncé’s longtime choreographer; singer-songwriter-storyteller Michaela Paige, Season 3 runner-up on NBC’s “The Voice;” Emmy and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Jaime Floyd; and Prodigal Son, a seven-time Billboard-charting
gospel rap artist who rhymes about his rough and tumble past life on the streets.

The Lettermen

At 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, The Lettermen are expected to draw a large crowd during Seniors Day. For more than 50 years, The Lettermen — Donovan Tea, Bobby Poynton and Rob Gulack, each of whom are entertainers in their own right — have kept the meaning of harmony
alive with their soft, romantic, harmonic blend of music which is as popular with their fans today as it was in 1961 when they recorded their first hit, “The Way You Look Tonight.” The Lettermen have more than 75 albums — numerous certified gold — and a myriad of hits.

The band also has enjoyed international success touring Japan, The Philippines, China, Thailand, Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, Germany, France, South America, Canada, Mexico and even Saudi Arabia.

Completely Unchained the Ultimate Van Halen Tribute Band

On Wednesday, Jan. 29, on the evening of the fair’s second Bike Night, Completely Unchained will perform at 8 p.m. Promoted as the Ultimate Van Halen Tribute Band, the group won the Tribute Band Competition at the 2019 fair. The four energetic and creative musicians re-create the ultimate Van Halen production, complete with the attitude, sounds, excitement, energy and most of all the fun that Van Halen produced as one of the best rock bands in the world.

Russell Dickerson

Country music will fill the air at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20, when Nashville-based Russell Dickerson takes the stage. A multi-platinum recording artist and 2019 ACM Award nominee for “Song of the Year,” Dickerson is one of country music’s most talked-about new talents. His smash single “Yours” is a ballad inspired by his wife that has racked up more than 33 million streams to date on Spotify, where he’s been on the Hot Country, Country Gold playlists and more for over a year, and has exploded since being serviced to country radio in April.

The concert series will close on Saturday, Feb 1, with the 11th Annual Rock Tribute Band Competition, which has become a favorite event among fairgoers and music lovers.
