Date: 5pm – Saturday, October 19, 2019
Dreyfoos in White will be held this Saturday, Oct. 19 at a secret location announced to ticket holders one hour before the event. Partygoers dress in all white, bring a picnic dinner, or buy to go dinners at several participating local restaurants, including Pistache French Bistro, Hai House Palm Beach, Mazies, Avocado Grill, Belle and Maxwell’s, Batch New Southern Kitchen and Tap, Bird in the Hand, and The Regional Kitchen and Public House.
We enjoyed the Dreyfoos in White kickoff party at PB Catch and had a blast!
Dreyfoos in White features entertainment by students from Dreyfoos School of the Arts as well as Dreyfoos alumni band Girlfriend Material. Event tickets for Dreyfoos in White are $55 and are now available at www.soafi.org with proceeds benefiting the Dreyfoos School of the Arts Foundation.
Also featured is the Dreyfoos in White Prize Drawing includes a seven-night stay for up to eight guests at the Luxe Mexican Resort in Cancun or Puerto Vallarta (winner’s choice), a two-night stay plus airfare for two in Paris, and a Palm Beach Staycation. Prize drawing tickets are $25 each or three for $50 at www.soafi.org.
Sponsors and underwriters for Dreyfoos in White 2018 to date include Akerman; Stuart and Allison Haft; Gail Hughes Galli; Peter Raimondi; George Elmore and Marti LaTour; Ballet Florida – Artistic Director Lauren Carey; Gil Cohen and Paul Gervais; HIVE; Cater and Alice Randolph; Sarah Cooke, president of SYCPR and Nick Kassatly of Brown Harris Stevens Palm Beach; Ronald and Leslie Schram; and Josephine Wurster, along with Empire Office and Florida Financial and Insurance Services.
Funds raised through Dreyfoos in White help support vital educational programs that would otherwise not be funded. Last year, the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts Foundation provided $1.2 million in support to the School of the Arts. Many of the school’s alumni have gone on to great success in their art areas, including communication arts, dance, digital media, music, theatre, visual arts, because of the resources and opportunities Dreyfoos was able to provide.
Things to remember
The secret location will be revealed at 4:00 pm via email. The location will also be posted to our website at soafi.org/dreyfoosinwhite, as well as on our facebook page @Dreyfoos.SOAFI.
White attire is de rigueur! We encourage you to dress in white – elegant, comfy, or quirky fashion and accessories are welcome! Express your own appreciation for style, fashion, beauty, and FUN.
If you have a large party make sure to arrive as close to the event opening at 5:00 pm as possible so that you will all be able to sit together. Each 8’ x 30” table is designed to seat a minimum of 8 guests. If you have a smaller party expect to share your space and bring enough table cloth/décor to cover just enough space for your party. *Reserved tables and Sponsor seating will be labeled with a table name and number. We will have Dreyfoos Dancers at check-in ready to direct you to your tables.
Once set, each table at the event is a unique spectacle – we can’t wait to see what you create! Get as creative as you wish with your table decor – the tablescape competition is more competitive each year. Tablescape judges will go around and score each tablescape and announce winners for “Most Fabulous”, “Most Creative” and “Judges Choice”. This is your own dinner party for your group within this grand event – have fun! You will bring silverware, plates, serving ware, glasses, and whatever other table accessories you wish (for Gold and Platinum Sponsors this will be provided). There is “ambient” lighting at the venue, but you will be responsible for lighting your own tables as you like – there is no electricity on-site so you will need to bring candles/battery operated lights.
This event is meant to inspire the master chefs inside us all! Feel free to bring hors d’oeurves, an entrée, and a special dessert for your dinner party picnic. Make it as elaborate or as simple as you like. Yes, as with any great dining experience, wine, champagne, and beer may be enjoyed with your meal.
Leave No Trace
Part of the magic of this event is that it gathers so many friends yet leaves no trace at the end of the evening. All parties must dispose of any waste they generate into the trash bins on-site at the end of the evening.
